Aiden (Quang Anh) Pham is an artist from Hanoi, Vietnam, and based in Seattle, WA. They received a BA in Art History & Studio Art and Computer Science from Williams College.

Working across sculpture, sound, and moving image, I draw on Vietnamese language, history, icons, and folklore. Museum dioramas, peeling Soviet style murals, bright restoration paint jobs, family photos in plastic: growing up, I learnt that material remembers, and constructs belonging from that memory.

To remember is also to re-member, to reconstitute a body from parts. I manipulate the boundaries of objects to confound their function and reassemble new accounts of home. Focusing on absences and interruptions, excesses and repetitions in the material record, I construct speculative personal and communal histories to recast self-image, kinship, and dreams for the future.
